I am honored to serve as the founder and the president of the Green Tree Club for two consecutive years.
Our first initiative involved collecting unused clothes and toys from our school, which we donated to the Life-Giving Tree Organization. I, along with other club members, personally delivered these items to the children there. Witnessing the joy and value they found in the used toys we brought was heartwarming yet poignant, especially seeing over ten children having to share due to a shortage of toys. Their constant desire for hugs indicated a possible lack of parental affection, which deeply touched us.
During the spring break, we arranged a trip to Seoul Grand Park for these children. The task of looking after them was somewhat challenging, but seeing their faces light up with joy at the sight of the animals and knowing we were creating lasting, happy memories for them was immensely fulfilling.
In the summer, we took a new step by offering a three-hour coding and robotics class, a collaboration between the Green Tree Club and the Robotics Club. Contrary to our initial expectations that only a few children might show interest, all of them were keen to participate. Their enthusiasm for coding and their unwavering attention during the class were truly remarkable. We hope this experience has ignited a passion for robotics and coding in them. Encouraged by this success, we are now planning to conduct these classes on a regular basis.
