Music Camp: Mar. 2, 2024

We had an unforgettable day with 17 children at the Life Giving Tree Organization. We had spent over a month preparing for this day, training ourselves to teach these children how to play various musical instruments. We wanted to share the joy of music with them and decided to focus on three gospel songs. With instruments like the drums, electric guitar, piano, and acoustic guitar, we set out to create an experience that would be enriching.

We divided into small groups, each focusing on a different instrument. A group focused on singing guided the children through the melodies and harmonies of the gospel songs. The teaching sessions were full of laughter and discovery. Some kids quickly picked up rhythms and melodies while others took their time. But all of them were determined to learn.

After three hours of practice, we gathered together, instruments in hand, ready to perform as one group. With one unified voice, we began to sing. The room was filled with a sense of joy and unity. Seeing the children's smiles and hearing their voices and play was the greatest reward for us.

It was more than just a music lesson; it was a time of connection, learning, and mutual growth. The children's enthusiasm and joy reminded us of the power of music to bring people together and to lift the spirit.

Our experience at the music cap was a heartwarming reminder of the impact we can have when we come together with a shared purpose. We left with full hearts, grateful for the opportunity to make music, and create lasting memories with these wonderful children.
